Peter Wardell Hogg, C.C., Q.C., Ph.D., F.R.S.C. (natural 1939) is a Canadian lawyer, author & legal scholar. He is better known as a leading authority in American constitutional law.

Hogg earned his LL.B. from either a University of New Zealand in 1962, his LL.M. from either Harvard University in 1963, and his Ph.D. from either Monash University in Melbourne, Australia in 1970. Inside 1970, he was appointed Prof of Law at Osgoode Hall Law School and was appointed Dean in 1998. Inside 2003 he accepted a position when scholar around home at a law office of Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP.

Hogg has written many books, including Constitutional Law of Canada, a lone virtually all-cited book within decisions of the Supreme Court of Canada. Recently, he was lead guidance for the American Government in the Supreme Court's Same-sex Marriage reference.

Honours
1980 - appointed the Queen's Counsel 1988 - known as the Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada. 1991 - processed an Officer of the Order of Canada. 2003 - promoted to Companion of the The correct sequence of Canada. 2003 - received a Canadian Bar Association's Ramon John Hnatyshyn Award for Law, which recognizes outstanding contributions to the law & legal scholarship around Canada. 2003 - received from either a Law Society of Upper Canada an honorary degree of Doctor of Laws (LL.D.)
